Dr. Eiman Firoozmand, Medical Director
Eiman Firoozmand, MD is a board certified colorectal and general surgeon at La Peer Health Systems and Los Angeles Colon and Rectal Surgical Associates, Inc. Dr. Firoozmand is the medical director of the Fissure/Fistula Surgery Center of Excellence at La Peer Health Systems and also Chief of the Division of Colorectal Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Hiss clinical and research interests are in optimizing outcomes and techniques in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, colon and rectal cancer, and benign anorectal disease. He has written numerous articles for peer-reviewed publications, including The American Surgeon, The Journal of Trauma, Surgical Laparoscopy & Endoscopy, Circulation Research and Circulatory Shock.
Dr. Firoozmand received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Davis. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California (USC) School of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and his fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Keck School of Medicine at USC.

Dr. Liza Capiendo
Liza M. Capiendo, MD is a board certified colorectal surgeon and general surgeon with clinical and research interests focus on the laparoscopic treatment of colon and rectal disorders and special emphasis on the treatment of rectal disorders in women. Dr. Capiendo also has a special clinical interest in the laparoscopic resection of gastrointestinal malignancies. She is the Clinical Chief of the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Capiendo received her Medical Degree from Loma Linda University and completed her surgical residency at King/Drew Medical Center, where she was Surgical Resident of the Year award three times. She completed her Colon and Rectal Fellowship at Los Angeles County/U.S.C. Medical Center.
Dr. Stephen Yoo
Stephen Yoo, M.D. is board certified in colorectal and general surgery at La Peer and an Attending Surgeon and an active member of the teaching faculty in the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Cedars Sinai. His clinical and research interests include laparoscopy, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and optimization of surgical outcomes. Dr. Yoo has a special interest in the prevention and improvement of survival and recurrence rates of colorectal cancer, and he places special emphasis on the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and anorectal disorders.
Dr. Gary Hoffman
Gary H. Hoffman, M.D. is board certified in both colorectal surgery and general surgery. Dr. Hoffman is also an Attending Surgeon and instructor in the Division of Colorectal Surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Attending Surgeon in the Division of General Surgery, and Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. His main clinical and research interests involve the laparoscopic, minimally invasive treatment of colon and rectal malignancies, optimizing outcomes and techniques in general colorectal surgery, endoscopy and the surgical treatment of hemorrhoids. Dr. Hoffman has been named to SUPER DOCTORS for two straight years.
Dr. Allen Kamrava
Allen Kamrava, MD is a board-certified colorectal and general surgeon at La Peer Health Systems and Los Angeles Colon and Rectal Surgical Associates, Inc. Dr. Kamrava’s clinical research interests include the care of patients with inflammatory bowel disease, advanced colorectal cancers, and complex anal diseases. He is board-certified in Colon and Rectal Surgery and received certification in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques, and completed a dual graduate degree in medicine and business administration at Temple University’s School of Medicine and the Fox School of Business.
David P. Magner, MD
Dr. Magner is board-certified in minimally-invasive and laparoscopic colon and rectal surgery. Through an interdisciplinary, patient-centered approach, he specializes in the treatment of all aspects of colorectal disease. Dr. Magner’s expertise includes pelvic floor dysfunction, benign anorectal conditions, advanced gastrointestinal malignancies, and inflammatory bowel disease. He is a skilled laparoscopic surgeon, offering completely laparoscopic approaches to surgeries which are often performed in an “open” or “hand-assisted” manner. He is also a member of the teaching faculty in the Division of Colon & Rectal Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
